Husbands vs Wifes, who cheats more and who is most suspicious?

My Telescope’s newest infidelity index indicates that men are more paranoid that their spouse is cheating on them, but is it just a projection of their own thoughts?

According to Research in 2020 looking at infidelity in marriage from 1991 to 2018 by the General Social Survey (GSS), almost twice as many men report cheating in their relationship (23% compared to 12% for women). No surprise here, however when adding to this insight using My Telescope’s search data analysis we get some interesting findings on human psychology:

My Telescope’s infidelity index based on searches from Google show three key findings:

  1. Three times as many people search about their wife cheating than their husband cheating.

  2. July has the highest amount of searches for “is it ok to cheat” over the last 12 months

  3. One of the most consistently searched keyword over the last 12 months is “is it ok to cheat on your girlfriend”

What could this be telling us?

Men cheat more and think about cheating more. This reality makes men more paranoid that their wife might be doing the same and are therefore looking for signs that this could be true and projecting their own thoughts on their partner.

Search data allows us to quickly get deeper insights into real human psychology. Feel free to start using My Telescope to create your own insights today.
